Activate Learning’s Services to the Public faculty have launched a selection of new, free and part-time introductory programmes for adults.
There are three programmes available which will prepare adult learners for work in social care, schools and young people. These four-week programmes will take place at Reading College and City of Oxford College in January 2019.
Programmes feature no practical placements, exams or assessments and all learners will receive a certificate on completion. Sessions will take place on Monday and Tuesday evenings at 7-9pm or alternatively, you can attend Saturday sessions from 9.30am-2pm.
The Preparing for work in Social Care settings programme is for those who are thinking of working in a care setting and will provide learners with a general understanding of the care sector.
The Preparing for Work in Schools programme is for those who are thinking of working in a school setting. It will provide learners with a general understanding of how to support teaching and learning within a school.
The Preparing for work with Young People programme is for those who are thinking of working with young people and will provide learners with a general understanding of youth work practice.
On completion, students are welcome to enrol onto a Level 2 Diploma in their chosen area. These include the Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care, the Level 2 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools and the Level 2 Diploma in Youth Work Practice.
For courses starting week commencing 14 January 2019, you must have your application submitted by 14 December 2018. These courses will finish the week commencing 19 November 2018.
