Heathrow UTC

Heathrow UTC is an innovative, employer-focused, high-tech school for students aged from 14 to 19, specialising in Aviation Engineering.
UTC Heathrow is different to an existing traditional school – we deliver first class education in an environment that feels like the workplace. This is achieved by delivering the curriculum through employer-led projects which tackle real industry issues.

Theale Green School

Our latest school to join the Activate Learning Educational Trust is Theale Green School – an 11-18 comprehensive school, with around 1,100 students.

In 2014, Theale Green School became a Sponsored Academy with Bradfield College, in partnership with the Department for Education.

The Bicester School

We have further expanded our schools division as academy sponsor of The Bicester School (formerly known as Bicester Community College).
The comprehensive school, which has nearly 1,000 pupils across the full Year 7 to 13 age range, relaunched with academy status following a period of community consultation.

What our students are saying

"I feel like I’m in a forward thinking environment, where we can try out new ideas and get involved in different projects." (James Weeks, 18)

Project-based learning

Project-based learning is a central part of the way we do things at UTC Reading.
Our students work with employers on industry-specific projects. This helps them build relevant skills, including teamwork and communication, and gain experience which prepares them for he workplace.
